Visibility and Automation for B2B Supply Chains
/For New York based startup P1ston, Inc., Kaz built an innovative platform that delivers supply chain visibility and workflow automation to manufacturers and distributors.
The Need
Kaz helped New York based startup P1ston build an innovative platform that delivers supply chain visibility and workflow automation. The target market was small- to medium-sized (SMB) manufacturers and distributors.
Like large companies, SMB manufacturers and distributors spend millions on accounting systems and ERPs. But their supply chains still break if you take away spreadsheets and email. For SMBs, there is no cost-effective platform to track the open order supply chain process. Absent such a platform, companies have no visibility about the status of their inbound orders. This lack of visibility leads to surprise production shortages, lower OTD, and hours of wasted labor. For almost all SMB manufacturers and distributors, the whole process is a nightmare.
The Solution
Kaz helped P1ston build a multi-tenant SaaS platform for managing supply chain workflows. With this service, both buyers and suppliers have visibility to up-to-date information and status of their purchase orders. To facilitate communication with other systems, Kaz built an open API as well as pre-integrations to ERPs such as Epicor, Microsoft Dynamics, Infor, EstiTrack, and QuickBooks. With an ERP supplemented by the P1ston add-on, supply chain operations are scalable and more efficient. The platform lets manufacturers and distributors:
Communicate faster
Streamline sourcing efforts
Stay informed and in control
Lower costs
Increase efficiency
The Partnership
As an innovative startup, P1ston was looking to scale rapidly, and build a solution that was reinventing an established but inefficient sector. This meant P1ston needed a software team that was both talented and multi-hatted. A team that can get the job done fast but was fine with the constant need to change and adapt. Together we put in place an engineering team that could meet their needs in record time. With software architects and designers who can imagine and visualize the software and with software engineers who can implement those designs.
We used .NET core, node.js and react on AWS with serverless and microservices architecture.
