Agile Wins Again: Small Steps, Big Impact in 2025

At Kaz Software, we’re always looking for ways to give back to our community. As a team of tech enthusiasts, that’s no small feat—our brainstorming sessions tend to spiral into chaotic debates and mini ideological battles. But that’s just how we roll! In 2025, we’re reflecting on how our love for agile processes helped us turn big ideas into meaningful action, one small step at a time.

From Chaos to Clarity

A while back, we set out to make a difference in our community. Naturally, we leaned on our software development roots and kicked things off with some intense brainstorming. Ideas flew—some brilliant, some delightfully wild—and we captured them all on a wiki page. Sound familiar? It was classic Waterfall: big plans, endless debates, and… not much progress.

After a few stalled attempts, we had an epiphany: we were overplanning. We needed to ditch the upfront design and go agile. Small, iterative steps were the way to go.

A Lucky Break

Right around this “aha” moment, a friend of a Kaz team member dropped by. He seemed unassuming at first, but we soon learned he was running a teaching program for street children near our office. His initiative, Prothom Shurjo, was making a real difference, and we saw our chance to jump in.

Agile in Action

We didn’t overthink it this time. Instead, we took a baby step: we started providing snacks for every child attending the classes. It’s a simple gesture, but it’s been a game-changer—those snacks are a magnet, keeping kids coming back to learn.

Our next step? Introducing basic computer skills. We’ll admit, we were tempted to teach them C++ (because, you know, it’s essential), but our philanthropist friend gently steered us toward the basics—like clicking the Start button. Fair enough. These small wins are building momentum, and we’re eyeing some of those wild wiki ideas for the future.

Why Agile Matters in 2025

This experience reminded us why we love agile. In a world of rapid change—think AI tools, remote teams, and instant global collaboration—big, rigid plans often fall apart. Agile lets us start small, learn fast, and grow organically. Whether it’s coding or community work, it’s about progress, not perfection.
